Art Production and Publication Fund- funding the artists and books

The Art Gym supports artists! We are working towards becoming the first W.A.G.E. certified art organization in Oregon, and the only current one in the Pacific Northwest. W.A.G.E. (Working Artists and the Greater Economy) certification means that the Art Gym is listed as a non-profit arts organizations demonstrating a history of, and commitment to, voluntarily paying artist fees that meet a minimum payment standard. We began consistently paying W.A.G.E. fees in fall of 2015 as part of our 5 Year Strategic Plan and will be certified in fall of 2016.

The Art Gym Art Production and Publication Fund includes costs for artists such as publications, materials, technical assistance, equipment, and technology for artists. We pay so the artists can make ambitious work while receiving fair wages.

Working Artists and the Greater Economy

Founded in 2008, Working Artists and the Greater Economy (W.A.G.E.) is a New York-based activist organization focused on regulating the payment of artist fees by nonprofit art institutions and establishing a sustainable labor relation between artists and the institutions that contract our work.
